Tennis

La Camarilla provides year-round play on its 16 outdoor courts.

Our tennis staff, all certified, have developed a well-rounded program of lessons, clinics, leagues and social tennis activities for adults and juniors of all ability levels. La Camarilla is a proud recipient of the Phoenix area USTA award for Facility of the Year!.

Our Staff:

Roger Furman, USPTA certified, our Director of Tennis and General Manager was recently recognized for his 20 years of service to the game.  Previous to joining La Camarilla, he coached local, Missouri Valley, and nationally ranked players at all age levels and was even selected to coach the St. Louis National Junior City Team.  Roger was a former collegiate player and he brings the enthusiasm and energy from those playing days into La Camarilla's tennis programs.  He was also very active in the Adult Interclub League in St. Louis and lends his coaching and organizational experience to La Camarilla.

Dayna Guizzetti Aside from being one of the top female players in the Phoenix area, Dayna's playing resume includes a full scholarship to Seattle University where she played the #1 position for her college team that consistently won the National District title and was ranked #6 nationally. She is a USPTA Profesional but also brings experience as a Head Pro, Director of Tennis in addition to her 12 years of coaching. With both Junior and Adult level programming experience, Dayna is a welcome force in our ever expanding junior offerings.

Cory Rockow is another full time USPTA certified pro on our staff. Cory is not only an accomplished player on the court where he was nationally ranked as a junior and All-Conference while at college; but, he also performed on the academic side of college as a consistent member of the Academic Dean's List. Cory's history already includes five years of teaching tennis. His discipline and tremendous ability to communicate has enabled him to not only be a great addition for private lessons but helped him immediately join into team teaching, camp and group program settings.

Jonathan Van Assche A USPTA certified pro, Jonathan (Jon) grew up in Grosse Point, Michigan and took tennis lessons from Mark Gelina, coach of former ATP #6 player Aaron Krickstein. Jon played #1 singles at Grosse Point High School, won the Mid-American Conference Championships and four Club Championships. Jon formerly taught at Lochmoore Country Club in Grosse Ponte and then moved to Palm Beach, Florida where he played in many money prize tournaments. Jon has another talent which is advantageous to tennis players; he's an IFPA certified personal trainer. So, in addition to seeing Jon on the tennis courts, you will see him teaching group fitness classes, teaching group training (specializing in tennis fitness programs) and on the weight room floor. He'll tune up your game and your body!

As our programs grow we'll continue to bring in top quality, certified professionals to bolster our staff which is already recognized as one of the best in the Valley.
